Safari Out West

Prompt:

• Create physical custom artwork for a charity auction event (2021) organized by a group of Leh Keen Safari 911 owners - the event organizer was a previous client of mine.

• I had complete creative freedom, so my goal was to push my skills and illustrate something I never had before,  a fusion of multiple cars into one.

Process:

• Using Adobe Illustrator, I created each vehicle that was attending in vector format and captured every unique characteristic of each specific build, as I wasn't sure of the order in which I was going to fuse the cars together. Ultimately, I put them in production build order (starting with #1) which highlighted various unique aspects of most builds.

• Lastly, I created a subtle outline of the rally route (south Utah to Central Phoenix) and utilized it on the background of the print.

• I outsourced the print to a special lab which resulted in printing on premium luster finish 11"x14" paper with archival ink.

Result:

• I provided this artwork, along with a bespoke vehicle illustration ($300 value) to be redeemed by the winner at their convenience. 

• This artwork raised $1,200 at auction, which was donated to the Navajo Nation Department of Health (who were drastically affected by the pandemic) and The Lift Garage (who provide low or no-cost auto care to people in need.)
